LATINAS IN PROGRESS
HWNT Fort Worth’s esteemed education series, Latinas in Progress© (LIPFW), collaborates with area universities and colleges to motivate graduating high school Latinas toward achieving their dreams of a college degree. LIPFW acclimates participants to the rigors of college and equips them with tools that will enrich their personal and professional lives.
The LIP Education Series consists of six learning sessions, volunteer opportunities, and mentorship. The LIP Education Series enables students to:
-
Learn more about the college process;
-
Focus on writing skills;
-
Learn to be more assertive;
-
Learn about the importance of civic engagement;
-
Learn about healthy living and essential life skills.
The sessions are hosted at partner colleges and universities on one Saturday a month during the school year from September to March. LIP also exposes the participants to professional women who share their stories of overcoming adversity, achieving higher education, and their professional success. The sessions provide enriching learning experiences and access to opportunities, information, financial resources, and university exposure.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
HWNT Fort Worth's Scholarship Program awards scholarships to Latinas In Progress (LIPFW) graduating seniors to help them achieve their higher educational goals.
We appreciate your consideration in making a donation to ensure these motivated young women have a better opportunity to continue their studies toward obtaining a degree.
